Youth Parliament of Pakistan

PILDAT launched the first ever Youth Parliament Pakistan Project in January 2007. The Youth Parliament Pakistan is patterned after the National Assembly of Pakistan and meets for six sessions in a year.

This second phase of the project aims to continue to promote active democratic citizenship among Pakistani youth through the establishment and facilitation of Youth Parliament Pakistan at Islamabad, to become self-sustaining through the establishment of a Sustainability Fund.

A sustainable Youth Parliament will provide young people with invaluable training in democracy and politics and opportunities for a civilised and peaceful expression of their view thus promoting respect for human rights and thereby effectively targeting potential radical leanings among youth and promoting a more peaceful society.
