We currently deal with a high level of attempted passport fraud across South Asia. To tackle this our specialist fraud prevention teams run a range of additional checks and verifications on passport applications.

This means that we ask for a range of additional documents to support your claim and identity. We apologise for the inconvenience but these measures are necessary to prevent fraud and a range of other offences. Further information is available on passports page.

In Pakistan the documentation required depends on the type of application being made. All documents must be submitted in original with photocopies, including those of stamps/visas/observation on passports. Translated versions of Urdu documents should also be provided.  Additionally, with effect from 1st April 2009, all first time applicants are required to submit one set of photocopies of all original documents including stamped pages of passports. There is a charge (minimum Rs. 7,650.00) if you want to use High Commission’s photocopying facility.

Photographs

All passport applicants must provide 2 identical passport photographs that meet the standard set out in the Identity and Passport Service Guide to taking a good photo for your passport.
